Menards Fertilizer and Ice Melt Products

Get rid of unwanted broadleaf weeds and prepare your lawn for winter dormancy. Controls dandelions, clover and over 200 broadleaf weeds. Available in 5,000 sq. ft. size.

Menards® Premium Fall Lawn Food with Weed Control. A granular ready-to-use formula that provides a fertilizer feeding which prepares lawn for winter dormancy and improves spring green-up plus broadleaf weed control all in one application.

Contains polymer-coated Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer technology. As the lawn demands nutrients, nitrogen is released slowly into the soil for plant uptake. This controlled-release approach provides predictable feeding for over 2 months.

Contains the active ingredient TRIMEC at a special rate for premium broadleaf weed control. Apply using a spreader in late summer through fall as the final application of the growing season before lawn dormancy.

Features:

  • Formulated to provide winter hardiness and build a strong root system.
  • Contains Trimec® herbicide, which controls Dandelion, Chickweed, Knotweed, Plantains, Henbit, Spurge, and other listed broadleaf weeds.
  • Feeds for over two months!
  • Winterizes your lawn and helps to prevent winterkill

When to Apply:

  • Apply in late August, September, or early October when the temperature cools and weed re-growth appears.
  • Do not apply after weeds have gone dormant in the fall.

How to Apply:

  1. Mow lawn 1 to 2 days before application.
  2. Water the lawn thoroughly at least one day before application to sustain moisture until the next watering. (see step 4)
  3. Apply when weeds are actively growing, preferably in the early morning when the grass is damp from dew. If the grass is not moist during the application, sprinkle lightly with water to hold the Trimec® material to the weed leaves and prevent dust drift onto non-target plants.
  4. Do not water or wash product from weed leaves for 1 to 2 days after application. At this time, a thorough watering should take place. Refer to the back of the bag for spreader settings.
